Mr. Jeremy Friesen, Commodity Strategist, Societe Generale's Asia

Jeremy Friesen, recently joined Societe Generale's Asia as a commodity strategist. Jeremy works with institutional investors in Asia and the Pacific Rim and leverages the company’s index and structured products capabilities. Previously Jeremy held positions as a commodity strategist in New York for Morgan Stanley for over four years, as a currency strategist in Toronto for RBC Capital Markets for three years and as an economist for the Bank of Canada in Ottawa for a year. Jeremy holds an MA in economist from McGill and BA in business from Trinity Western.

Mr. Jiang Pan, CFA , Portfolio Manager,  Franklin Templeton Sealand Fund Management Co.,Ltd.

Jiang Pan, CFA, PM with Franklin Templeton Sealand Fund Management Co. since 2007, manages an equity fund, Franklin Growth Engine Fund. He was also the head of research from 2007 to 2009 with FTS. Prior to FTS, Jiang Pan was the chief strategist, head of research and PM with Wanjia Fund Management Co. The stock fund he managed at Wanjia achieved top performance among peer group and was rated as four-star fund by Morningstar. Prior to Wanjia, he was was the manager of investment research for Guotai Fund Management Co., where he started his asset management career after relocating from USA in 2001. Before that, Jiang Pan was investment manager with Verizon Communications' international investment group in USA. Jiang Pan received a Bachelor of Engineer in Electrical Engineering from University of Science and Technology of China and an MBA from Yale School of Management.

Ms. Lynn Raebsamen, CFA, CFE, Market Specialist,  Bloomberg L.P.

Lynn Raebsamen, CFA, CFE, is Bloomberg's Market Specialist for Commodity & Derivatives markets for Asia-Pacific. She is responsible for business, product development and training of key clients, sales and customer support teams in the region, as well as speaking at internal and external seminars and conferences. Prior to Bloomberg she worked in Zurich, London, Paris and Seoul in different derivatives structuring and sales roles for major banks such as Credit Suisse and UBS. Lynn has a Masters in Economics and Finance from the University of St. Gallen, Switzerland, holds the title of a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), a Certificate in Financial Engineering (CFE) and a Certificate of General Management from the Anderson School at UCLA, USA.

Mr. Nick Ronalds, CFA , Executive Director, FIA Asia

Nick Ronalds, CFA, Executive Director, FIA Asia, is responsible for managing the Asian affiliate of the Futures Industry Association.  Nick’s career in the futures industry spans over 20 years and has included senior positions at the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the futures brokerage units of several global futures brokerage firms.  From 1987 to 1994 he was Managing Director of the joint Asian Representative office of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) and Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), based in Tokyo, Japan. Over the years he has advised a wide range of institutional investors, including central banks, mutual funds, and other financial intermediaries, on the effective use of exchange-traded derivatives to enhance their portfolio management strategies.  He has travelled to China regularly since his first visit in March of 1989, at the invitation of the Ministry of Commerce, to advise them on the structure and management of futures exchanges. In addition to his work for the FIA, he is President of his firm, AsiasMarkets, which specializes in financial markets consulting and strategic advisory for Asian markets. He has several published many articles in publications such as: Futures Industry, Nihon Shoken Shimbun (Japan Securities Daily), Cijing magazine, and The Wall Street Journal. Nick is a CFA charter holder and past-President of the CFA Society of Chicago. 

Mr. Phillip Wu, CFA, Founder & Chairman, Applied Strategy Group

Phillip Y. Wu, CFA is the Founder & Chairman of Applied Strategy Group; a member of the Asian Executive Board of the Wharton School;  President of the Wharton Club in Shanghai; Secretary General of China Real Estate Developers and Investors Association (“CREDIA”) and a China Advisor of the CFA Institute. Prior to founding Applied Strategy, Phillip began his investment career at Credit Suisse First Boston in New York. He later founded hedge funds in Hong Kong and China and served in management roles in Novel Group. Phillip holds an MBA from The Wharton School and a BBA from the University of Houston. He became the first CFA Charter Holder from Mainland China in 1993.

Ms. Ruifen Xu, Founding Partner, Zan Capital

Ms. Ruifen Xu, is a founding Partner of Zan Capital, a Private Equity firm focusing  in clean tech, health care, agriculture and advanced machinery investment, and the Principal of RIC Capital Management. She has worked as a portfolio investment manager for global alternative investment of Dow Corporate Pension, which has 15 billion USD in assets and has advised several investment funds including Dow Europe Pension Alternative Investment and the Global Investment Fund. Ms. Xu was a Committee Member of the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA) publication committee and holds a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering from Tongji University, as well as duel Masters in Real Estate and Science from Columbia University.
